Special Events

  • Planned and coordinated “SequaliShoot,” a 24-hour photography challenge for adults and youth to promote hiking trails in DuPont, WA, 2013-2024. SequaliShoot is derived from the name of an historic creek trail: Sequalitchew.
  • Planned and organized a DuPont-based fund-raiser for Tacoma-Pierce Humane Society. DuPont Dogathon raised $1500 in 2020 and 2021. 
  • Planned and coordinated statewide awards for Healthy Communities Washington at the Joint Conference on Health, an audience of 500-plus public health professionals (2009).
  • Planned and coordinated “Turn the Capitol Red” event for the governor and key health directors at the Washington State Capitol to highlight women and heart disease (2006). 
  • Planned and coordinated Washington Drinking Water Seminars held in five locations, for 600 water system operators and managers (fall 2002). 
  • Planned and coordinated groundbreaking, dedication ceremonies, open houses, and annual July 4th Fiesta of Independence swearing-in ceremony for 350-500 new citizens (1990-1999).

  • Designed and taught digital photography course (2018-2024) for City of DuPont, WA
  • Communication planning presentations for Master of Public Health classes-University of Washington (2006-2011). 
  • Cross-cultural presentations for Washington Students of Color Conference (2001) and Public Relations Society of America.

  • Co-designed study abroad and cultural exchange programs, and international student services handbook for community college students and faculty.
